Praktiker Romania, the leader of the DIY market, starts the expansion planed for 2007 in Galati city, with the 17^th store from the company’s network. Located on 158A, Domneasca St, the store will welcome the first visitors tomorrow, on April 13. The new unit can be visited every day, Monday to Saturday from 8.30 to 21.00 and on Sundays between 9.00 and 18.00. The store has approximately 6,500 sqm selling space and a parking lot of about 300 places available. For implementing the new project, Praktiker Romania invested about 10 million Euro.

 

“Galati has a very good potential for economic and social growth therefore we considered this city for our expansion strategy at this stage”, stated Guenter Vosskaemper, General Manager of Praktiker Romania.“We are glad to be here and bring closer to our clients from this city the practical home and garden improvement solutions”.

 

The offer available at Praktiker exceeds 40,000 products, includingbuilding materials, decorations for indoor and outdoor, sanitary accessories, furniture items, electronic and home appliances, gardening products. Added to these, a wide range of services are available right in the store: special orders, chromatic mixer for dyes, financial services, transport service, products return guarantee, wood cutting and sewing services.

 

For the team in Galati, Praktiker hired about 100 persons. As in all the previous stores, the team members are prepared to offer assistance for the clients in finding the right solutions for their home improvement solutions. Whether they have a plan for the entire home or are just thinking to redecorate a room, those who care about their own place can find under the same roof the products, as well as all the help needed.

 

Galati is the second of the twin cities located by Danube River where Praktiker Romania opens a store. In December last year, the company also inaugurated a unit in Braila. With the two cities added to the network, Praktiker gets the most extended presence in the South-Eastern region of the country. Within this region, the company also owns a store in Constanta.

 

Praktiker Romania is the leader of the Romanian DIY market and operates the largest specialized store network comprising locations in all the regions of the country. At present, the company owns 16 units, out of which three are in Bucharest (Voluntari, Militari and Vitan) and the others at Cluj-Napoca, Ploiesti, Brasov, Timisoara, Bacau, Oradea, Constanta, Craiova, Arad, Tirgu-Mures, Satu Mare, Braila and Baia Mare. The first Praktiker store in Romania was opened in September 2002, in Bucuresti-Voluntari. Following the store project in Galati, the Praktiker Romania’s total investments reach to about 150 millions Euro. Plans for 2007 will continue with a store opening in Targoviste city, to welcome the visitors starting in the second half of the year.
