By taking part in the International Trainee Program, you will have the opportunity to get to know us well: active
participation in our core divisions’ day-to-day business will help you to acquire skills valuable for your further
career. You will also develop a deep understanding process dynamics and internal correlations in an
international, growth-oriented corporation, while being continually and intensely supported by your mentor.

Our Expectations
You either have a degree in economic science (University/ University of Applied Science/University of
Cooperative Education) or will graduate soon. An international focus – especially on countries in our portfolio –
would be an asset, an excellent command of both English and German is a must. You are dedicated and
willing to shape your and our future, you want to make a difference by using your skill, knowledge and
creativity. You are assertive and loyal and have an aptitude for commerce. Previous experience in the trade
sector by way of an internship and/or vocational training would be an asset.
We are pragmatic. If your performance meets our expectations, you will advance. And if your performance
exceeds our expectations, your Praktiker career will take off.
The program will take 12 (maximally 18) months: After a one-day „Kick-Off-Event“ there will be an orientation
phase of intensive training in central corporate divisions.
Following the orientation phase is a so-called project phase. You will acquire/initiate and work on a project; the
necessary methods skills will be taught in a special project management training course.
After successfully finishing your project, you will have the opportunity for specialization in your future division
(specialization phase).
Accompanying your on-the-job training, you will be familiarized with different corporate core divisions.
